Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We accept BCBS, Medicaid, OPTUM, UHC, Magnolia, Molina, and Ambetter.
Although HMCC will verify insurance prior to the start of the session, it is the clients responsibility to check with their insurance carrier to determine if they are covered to receive mental heal care. Although we are paneled with the companies mentioned above, sometimes errors can arise. When speaking to the insurance company, clients should ask the following questions:
Do I have a deductible?
What is the amount of my co-pay if i have one?
Do I need a referral to receive mental health services?
**Clients who receive a denial notice from their insurance companies will be responsible for paying for the cost of the session.
I don’t have insurance, can I still see a therapist?
Yes. In addition to insurance, credit cards are also accepted
How long are the sessions?
Sessions typically last 60 minutes. Sessions for children under the age of 6 will never go over 30 minutes, unless there is a crisis situation.
How do I schedule a session?
Call our office at 601.488.4852 to schedule your first session. You will receive access to a secure portal where you will be prompted to complete various documents. Once all of the documents have been completed, you will receive a call from our office to schedule your first session.
Do I have to come into the office to meet with a therapist?
No. HMCC offers therapeutic services via Telehealth or secured video sessions.
What is your office doing to ensure client safety during COVID-19?
Clients who arrive early for their appointment, will be asked to remain in the car until their scheduled appointment time.
Appointments are scheduled to minimize interactions between clients.
Masks are available in the waiting room for clients and staff
Hand sanitizer is available in the waiting room and office for clients and staff
Credit card payments are only accepted online
The office, waiting area, and restrooms are sanitized between each session.
What therapeutic approach is used in therapy?
HMCC does not believe in cookie cutter approaches to therapy. Keeping that in mind there is no one approach utilized for every client. Therapeutic approaches commonly implemented at HMCC are: Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), EMDR, and Play Therapy.
Do you prescribe medication?
No. We do not prescribe medication. We will however work with your primary physician in providing needed information for medication implementation.
Do you accept same day appointment requests?
No. All appointments are scheduled based on therapist availability and will be scheduled no less than 5 days following your request.
How long will I have to see a therapist?
Frequency of sessions will be decided upon by client and therapist and outlined in the treatment plan.
I saw a therapist before, but it did not help. Why should I try again?
Finding the right therapist is like finding the perfect shoe. Although it may look good on the shelf, it may not feel good when you put it on. That does not take away from the value of the shoe, it just was not right for you. Therapists take different approaches and specialize in different areas. I encourage individuals to research various therapist and find the one that is a perfect fit for them. Do not give up on your mental well-being because the process did not prove beneficial the first time around.
I know someone who gives good advice, why can’t I just talk to them?
It is always good to have a friend around to talk to. It is therapeutic and is a great way to vent. However, therapy is not like talking to a friend. Therapists are professionals who are trained to guide, not give advice in a therapeutic, non-bias, nonjudgmental, and confidential setting.
